EarthAcre Biocredit Pilot Field Trip 7th March 2026
Summary: One day field trip to the EarthAcre biocredit pilot site in the wildlife corridor of the Nairobi National Park. Leaving the conference hotel at 8am on Saturday 7th March the group will reach the Kitengela-Kipeto Conservation Area for a walk through the wildlife corridor, followed by discussions with the local Maasai and lunch with the opportunity to talk informally with community members on community-led conservation before returning by late afternoon.
Background: Connecting Nairobi National Park to the greater Athi Kapiti landscape, the Kitengela-Kipeto Conservation Area project, located on the outskirts of Nairobi—one of the fastest-growing cities in the world—plays a crucial role in connecting the Park to the greater landscape. Renowned as the only Park within a major city where one can see lion, leopard, rhinoceros, and more, Nairobi National Park is fenced on three sides. This critical, indigenous-owned corridor, the Kitengela-Kipeto Conservation Area, is the only access for animals to move in and out of the Park. EarthAcre is dedicated to keeping this vital area open, ensuring the park's wildlife can continue to thrive despite rapid urban growth.
Logistics
Please bring a hat, walking/sports shoes and sun-cream, if needed. Please be ready to board the coach from the Raddison Blu Upper Hill at 8am on Saturday 7th March. Return to the Radisson will be at approx. 5pm depending on traffic.
