Godfrey Ozeera is the Secretary of the Tengele Communal Land Association (CLA) and Team Leader for Biodiversity Monitoring within the community group working with ECOTRUST in the Murchison Falls Landscape. He coordinates community-led biodiversity monitoring activities, helping track wildlife and environmental changes in the Tengele community forest. Within the monitoring programme, he serves on the Threats Monitoring Team and the Automated Equipment Team, supporting the use of tools such as camera traps and acoustic recorders to document biodiversity. Godfrey also leads the association’s Business Wing, where he oversees livelihood initiatives including fish farming and Black Soldier Fly farming that help support conservation-friendly incomes for community members. He began his conservation journey in 2014 after completing his Advanced Level education and has since remained committed to protecting forest resources and promoting community stewardship of biodiversity.
