Dianah works with ECOTRUST- The Environmental Conservation Trust of Uganda, as head of the Biodiversity Programme which is one arm of their Tripple win model composed of Biodiversity conservation, Community Livelihood development and Climate mitigation and adaptation. Dianah has vast experience in the Conservation of Biodiversity with special interest in Avian conservation as well as community conservation and livelihoods development. During her PhD in Environment and Natural Resource Management from Makerere University, Uganda she investigated The Conservation of Biodiversity in Farmlands of Uganda, using Birds as indicators. Here, She started her current pursuit of the connection between community Farmlands and Biodiversity, which interface is vital for the advancement of community conservation. In her early years, Dianah worked with NatureUganda, the Birdlife partner in Uganda, as the Director Conservation Science & Policy in charge of the Biodiversity Conservation and the Community conservation programmes. With Plan Vivo, she supports the development, Certification & implementation of Biocredits projects in Africa, under the Plan Vivo Biodiversity Standard. Dianah’s current interest is in promoting sustainable Financing for biodiversity conservation and the trickle down of this conservation finance to the grassroot indigenous communities, at the center of landscape restoration and conservation.
