Akshay Vishwanath is an environmental leader dedicated to advancing social and environmental justice across Africa. He is the Executive Director of PILAE in Kenya, a public movement driving environmental advocacy through community empowerment, education, legal action, and mass mobilisation. Akshay has led national campaigns to protect critical public green spaces, including coordinating the Save Nairobi National Park campaign. He previously worked with Maliasili and spent nearly a decade at IUCN implementing conservation initiatives across Eastern and Southern Africa. He holds an MBA from African Leadership University and advanced degrees in environmental studies.
