Gladys Warigia is a policy expert in the natural resources conservation sector, with specialization in policy reforms and advocacy. Currently serving as Policy and Advocacy Manager, at Kenya Wildlife Conservancy Association(KWCA) a national umbrella organization of conservancies. Gladys has led the conservancy network in transformative policy growths that are enabling community led conservation in Kenya and their participation in shaping global policies impacting on sustainable community conservation. Gladys is a visionary leader, having played a pivotal role in the founding of community conservation networks including KWCA in 2013; Oversees KWCA's policy advocacy agenda, and has contributed to advancing community rights in natural resources, land and carbon markets. Has contributed to development of community tools/publications including: A Guide to Carbon Projects for Conservancies; Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC)- A Guide for Conservancies in Kenya; and A Reference to Community Land Management Committees. Gladys holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Laws (LLM) specializing in Environmental Law and a fellow to the Kinship Conservation Program.
