Speaker Bio
Anna Ducros is a researcher specialising in inclusive blue and green economies, currently with the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). Her work bridges climate, biodiversity, and social equity: from designing community-led biodiversity credit pilots in Uganda and Zambia to assessing economic and non-economic loss and damage in coastal communities in Senegal. Anna brings a strong background in marine and ocean sciences (BSc Earth & Ocean Sciences, University of British Columbia) and development studies (MSc Globalisation and Development, SOAS London), equipping her with both scientific rigour and a deep understanding of socio-economic and governance dimensions. Anna has worked extensively on biodiversity credits, including in the early stages in the launch of the concept and the inclusion of the biodiversity credits in the Global Biodiversity Framework. Anna works across multiple languages and regions, with a particular focus on engaging local communities, promoting environmental justice, and shaping finance mechanisms that benefit both people and nature.
