Joyce Mbataru is a Communication for Development specialist with over 15 years of experience in community-led conservation, gender equity, youth inclusion, and media development in Kenya. She is the Communications Lead at the Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association (KWCA), where she leads strategic efforts to amplify Kenya’s community conservation story at national and global levels. Passionate about written and visual storytelling, Joyce believes effective communication is essential to advancing conservation outcomes and social change, particularly in elevating the voices of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, including women and youth.
