Fatma is an ecologist by profession and an environmental activist by passion. She is currently winding up her MSc. in Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management and is among the WWF Young Environmentalist trainees. (YETS), who are change agents towards environmental conservation and bridging the gap between ecological civil society organizations and communities. She has been directly involved in capacity-building governance projects for ten years. Prior to that, she was assisting communities in integrating biodiversity and social justice to help local government actors to balance biological and human needs. She has trained more than 1200 local forest managers, 30 local forest networks (CBOs) and local communities on forest justice and good governance. Currently at Honeyguide, she supports WMA managers, Authorized Associations, board of trustees, and local communities in 15 WMAs to ensure wildlife actors link nature and human dimension to improve governance in WMAs.
